My New Wheels

Hang Glide

I once watched Motorcycle Diaries with forlorn jealousy, but no more. I have joined the forces of 2 wheeled motored vehicle drivers. Last week I found an eBay deal I couldn't pass up (eBay item link). A 1975 DOHC Honda CB750F which has a fresh coat of dark green paint and comes with plenty of smiles, at 79HP and 750cc's, it's a force to be dealt with on the road. Especially with it only weighing in at 345lbs. Not a bad start methinks. The odometer reading sits at a bit over 25,000 miles, but I believe it is good for many more to come. There are a few things I need to look into before getting it inspected and titled for Virginia; the horn and low/high beam switch seems to be nonfunctional and the chain guard rattles a bit by the back wheel, but all in all a nice ride for less than $1,200. It also came with a bunch of spare parts, so when things go sour, I'll be ready.

The engine VIN is CD750E-2414089 which according to this site means it is a K5 type engine/transmission.

Here's what the owner has to say about it:

Honda CB750 Motorcycle runs and good shape
1975 CB750 4 into 1 header, recently repainted bike .bike has painted fenders, but have original fender chrome.have crash bar, front fairing without a mounting bracket.also have a swing arm and aluminum style wheels off of 1978 model .have misc.parts also.bike runs great.selling because have little one on the way.e mail with any questions.happy bidding. 25,658 miles. VIN:CB7502531730. the bike was only rode 38 miles this year.it sat most of the time.just put new gas in a month ago drove it to work seemed ok.

Talking with him over the phone before I got it, he also said that he believed the bike was only owned by one guy before him, so I am just the 3rd owner! He had purchased it from that owner a little over a year before. The fellow he got it from was getting older (50s) and was also going through a divorce and needed to get rid of stuff.
